*La [[tigre]] siberiana, il predatore terrestre odierno più grande col peso di un terzo di tonnellata (300 chili), non è niente in confronto ai dinosauri carnivori più grandi, che potevano raggiungere da cinque fino a forse venti tonnellate — la grandezza degli elefanti e anche di più. Tuttavia, al contrario degli elefanti, i dinosauri carnivori più grandi correvano probabilmente con una velocità equiparabile a quella dei cavalli e cacciavano erbivori che erano anch'essi grandi come elefanti o persino di più.
