Christopher Darden

avvocato statunitense

Christopher Allen "Chris" Darden (1956 – vivente), avvocato, scrittore e letterato statunitense.

Chris Darden, 1995
[...] it is an extremely derogatory and denigrating term because it is so prejudicial and so extremely inflammatory that to use that word in any situation will evoke some type of emotional response from any african american within earshot of that word. [...] When you use that word in the presence of an african american you are asking that african american for a reaction. It is a call to arms. It is a test. It is a test of every african american when they hear that word and the test is "Where do you stand? On which side of the line do you stand?" [...] It is the filthiest, dirtiest, nastiest word in the English language. (dall'udienza del 13 gennaio 1995 del processo People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson[1])
The issue here is whether this Defendant killed Nicole Brown or Ron Goldman or not. The issue here isn't my ethics. The issue here isn't racism. The issue here isn't Detective Fuhrman. And it isn't their egos or how much money they can make or how many talk shows they can appear on. This case is a circus and they made it a circus! (dall'udienza del 16 agosto 1995 del processo People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson[2])
