Sul letto di morte, nel giorno e nell’ora della sua dipartita, Harlan Vetters chiamò il figlio e la figlia al suo capezzale. I lunghi capelli grigi del vecchio giacevano sul cuscino, accarezzati dalla luce della lampada, così da sembrare le emanazioni del suo spirito, già pronto ad abbandonarlo.
