Vivekananda: differenze tra le versioni

*Noi crediamo non solo nella tolleranza universale, ma accettiamo tutte le religioni come vere. Io sono orgoglioso di appartenere a un paese che ha ospitato i perseguitati e i profughi di tutte le religioni e di tutti i paesi del mondo. Sono orgoglioso di dirvi che abbiamo accolto nel nostro seno gli scampati più puri fra gli Israeliti, venuti nel sud dell'India e rifugiatisi con noi l'anno stesso in cui fu distrutto il loro sacro tempio dalla tirannia dei romani. Sono orgoglioso di appartenere alla religione che ha ospitato e continua a favorire il resto della grande nazione zoroastriana. Ricordo di aver recitato un inno della mia prima infanzia, ripetuto ogni giorno da milioni di esseri umani: "Come le diverse correnti che hanno le loro sorgenti in luoghi differenti si mescolano nelle acque nel mare, così, o Signore, i diversi percorsi che gli uomini prendono seguendo differenti tendenze, sebbene appaiano diversi, tortuosi o dritti, tutti portano a Te".
