*La [[Transilvania]] potrebbe ben essere nominata la terra della superstizione, poiché in nessun altro luogo questa curiosa e distorta erbaccia di illusione prospera così persistentemente e con tale [sconcertante / stupefacente] varietà. Sembrerebbe quasi come se tutte le specie di demoni, fate, streghe e folletti, cacciati dal resto d'Europa dalla bacchetta della scienza, si fossero rifugiati in questo <s>ramparto</s> bastione / baluardo montagnoso, coscienti che qui troverebbero rifugi sicuri ove potrebbero beffare ancora un po' dei loro persecutori.
